What is the heating mat TERMOFOL made of?

The heating mat combines the heating cable with a flexible mounting mesh, creating a ready-to-install system designed for direct installation under tiles.

Self-adhesive fibreglass mesh
Forms the base of the mat and allows for its quick and stable placement on the substrate.

Heating cable
The two-core cable with a diameter of 3.6 mm is responsible for heat generation.

Mounting tapes
Maintains the heating cable at the correct spacing on the mesh.

A 2 m cable allows connection of the mat to the thermostat and electrical installation.

The controller regulates the temperature and operation of the heating in a given room. Depending on the selected model, it is possible, among other things, to program schedules and remote control.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should conduits for underfloor heating be routed?

In most installations, two separate conduits (protective tubes) should be used:
• One conduit for the cables supplying the heating mat, cable, or heating film.
• A second conduit intended exclusively for the floor sensor.

The floor sensor should be placed in a separate protective tube, capped at the floor-side end. The tube should allow the sensor to be freely removed and reinserted.

For correctly completing this part of the installation, it is best to use the "Floor Sensor Installation Kit". The kit makes it easier to route the protective tube and to position the sensor correctly in the floor.

Thanks to the use of a separate protective tube, in the event of a sensor fault it can be replaced without having to remove the panels, tiles, or the entire floor.

How is underfloor heating controlled?

The thermostat contains a relay that switches the underfloor heating on and off depending on the temperature measured by the sensor and the value set by the user.

Control is carried out in ON/OFF mode, i.e. on a binary basis: the heating is either on or off. Once the set temperature is reached, the thermostat cuts off the power supply, and switches it back on again once the temperature drops.
