Building Boards and Waterproofing – A Solid Base for Tiles

A durable bathroom and well-performing underfloor heating start with a properly prepared base. In this category you will find TERMOFOL materials for insulating, building and sealing rooms finished with tiles.

TERMOTERM XPS Insulation Boards

The extruded polystyrene (XPS) core is coated on both sides with a mineral layer reinforced with fibreglass mesh. The boards are lightweight, durable and moisture-resistant, and under a heating mat they reduce heat loss downwards. They are available in thicknesses of 4, 6, 12, 20 and 30 mm – individually, in packs and on pallets.

Walk-In Shower Tray Boards

Shower tray boards let you create a level-access shower area with a ready-made slope. The four-way fall directs water to the drain, and the XPS core with a cementitious surface allows tiles to be laid directly on top. Sizes available: 900 × 900 mm with a central drain and 900 × 1200, 900 × 1400 and 900 × 1600 mm with a linear drain.

Under-Tile Waterproofing

Waterproofing tape, internal and external corners and pipe sealing collars for diameters from 10 to 50 mm protect the areas most exposed to moisture. They are embedded in the waterproofing layer, e.g. a liquid membrane, creating a continuous, watertight coating under the tiles.

Sealant and Installation Accessories

The flexible joint sealant compensates for minor substrate movement at material junctions and expansion joints, while the fibreglass tape is used to bond the joints between XPS boards. Together they form a complete system for preparing the base for tiles and underfloor heating.

How to Choose a Heating Mat for a Room? A Practical Guide

Choosing the right heating mat is more important than many investors realize. The selection of an appropriate heating mat should not be based solely on the area of the room. In practice, other factors also play a significant role: the heating function, type of flooring, insulation standard of the building, actual heating area, and the way the interior is used. That is why a well-chosen underfloor heating system operates comfortably, efficiently, and energy-saving for many years […]

Today, from the market perspective, it is clear that their role has significantly changed. Investors increasingly view electric underfloor heating as a conscious element of modern construction, rather than just a comfortable addition.
