Commonly used thermostats have an IP20 protection rating; unfortunately, installing such a device in a room exposed to high humidity is not possible.
In bathrooms and washrooms, only a thermostat with an IP21 protection rating or higher may be installed. The protection rating directly affects the safety of using the system as well as the device's service life.
There are two types of thermostat installation in a bathroom.
A – Installation outside the bathroom. The protective conduit of the temperature sensor is run down the outer wall, then led into a groove made in the floor, beneath the heating mat / film.
If the thermostat has an IP20 protection rating, it must be installed according to installation type A.
B – Installation of the thermostat inside the bathroom. The protective conduit of the temperature sensor is run along the inner wall of the bathroom, and the floor temperature sensor is placed in a groove made in the floor, beneath the heating mat / film.
Installation according to type B is only possible when the thermostat has an IP21 protection rating or higher!
When the thermostat is installed according to installation type A, it is programmed to floor temperature control mode (external sensor).
In this mode, only the target floor temperature can be set.
If the thermostat is installed inside the bathroom, you can program both floor temperature control and air control with a floor limit.
